I'm trying to make up for my lack of blogging by bombarding you all with posts. Is it working?
10 random facts about me . . .
1) I own 41 pairs of shoes . . . sad, huh? But lots of them are flip-flops :)
2) I'm good at remembering things . . . not always really important things though. I have most of my friends' phone numbers memorized, not because I dial them often (with the age of cell phones, they're all programmed, so you'd think people wouldn't memorize stuff like that, huh?), but just because . . .
3) I'm allergic to Twizzlers (yup, it's a bummer) and Purell . . . they make me wheeze.
4) I spent the night on a submarine once. Can't say as I slept very well because I was on the third bunk up and there was no space to roll over :P
5) When I find a new song I like, I listen to it over and over. If it doesn't get old after I've heard it about 20 times, it goes on my list of favorites . . . most of them don't get that far.
6) Without my contacts in or glasses on, if you're standing 15 feet away, I can barely make out your facial features. Actually, for you photographers out there, the way that I see without corrective lenses is like the bokeh in your photos when your f/ is set at 1.4
7) My favorite period in American history is WWII. Don't ask me why, I just find it fascinating.
8) I've written in journals since I was little. But, as of right now, I've only kept 2 of them, both of which I'm still writing in. I don't know where the rest are. I hope to keep track of these two :)
9) I can't sleep with the lights on. Like, not any lights at all. I put my computer under my bed at night so that I can't see the light that says it's charging, turn off my printer so the ready-to-print light is off and flip over my alarm clock so that the light's pointing away from me.
10) My two favorite fruits are avocados (yes, they are fruits) and pomegranates :D
11) Last Friday I was hanging out with friends and my car slid off the snowy road. I got rescued by a former New York Jets player. No joke.
12) You know that movie, UP, that so many people think is one of the best Pixar movies? Yeah, I don't like that movie.
13) I talk a lot . . . I think it's the debater in me. Which is why this is 13 facts about me rather than 10 :P
Tell me something random about you!
OK! Here's some random facts about me (I feel like you should get to know me better):
ReplyDelete1) I love you more than life itself.
2) The above random statement is false. I love you a lot but I do not love you more than life itself.
3) Last night I dreamed about going to the hospital with friends and family(I think you were there) to have our teeth brushed. Before they could be brushed we had to eat vanilla, peppermint, or original flavored lettuce. (sort of like the dream I had the other night where we were seasoning our chocolate pudding we were eating in the Arabian desert with Lady Gaga. Maybe it's like an abstract form of Mrs. Dash?!)
4) You ate your first Pomegranate at my house, right?
5) Why have I not heard about this rescue last Friday. I've talked to you 3 or 4 times on the phone since then and it has not been mentioned.
6) My fingers are cold.
7) My fingers are still cold.
8) Once I spent most of the night in a homemade 10 ft. high igloo with 5 other people. I happened to be lying directly under a visible dog dump. **gag**
9) I had to evacuate aformentioned (My medival is progressing quite superbly, indeed. Forsooth!) igloo when it started cracking.
10) I have 7 journals and I was so little when I started my first one my mom had to write in it for me. How's that for trust.
11) I want you to teach me how to snowboard before I die.
12) I'm sort of obsessed with oldies at the moment. I mean ollllldies. Like....Aretha Franklin oldies. Which is kind of weird.

My mom loves avocados as well. I like essentially all fruit; especially kiwis. I could also eat berries - any type - forever.
ReplyDeleteYep I know all too well the woes of contact-less eyes. I wear my glasses when I am too lazy to put my contacts in. Other than that though, contacts definitely beat out that foreign apparatus sprawling across my face. BTW you taught me a new word! Bokeh! That is an awesome word as well. You can be sure to see it surface in a future comment on here. ;-)
Now, Ashley, as a future doctor, one comment immediately caught my eye. It is excellent that you have made a habit of bliding light from your eyes while you sleep. Numerous studies have demonstrated that Melatonin is only substantially produced in the absence of light peaking around 1-2AM and then falling off into the second half of the night. When our eyes have an abundance light during the onset of Melatonin secretion, the body's circadian rhythm is greatly disrupted. I have had a bad habit all of my life of staying up far too late (need to be more like Rachel by rising early) and because of this I know prevent myself from producing sufficient amounts of Melatonin. It is good that you have taken steps to elminate light from your bedroom.
Never kept a journal. I may come to regret that someday.
Never saw UP. I did however see Despicable Me over Christmas and it is wretched. Waste of time movie. Loved Toy Story 3 though.
41 pairs of shoes!! :-) Ah, I can't even conceive that thought! Well, let's see, I own five, and one pair of sandals.
Fortunately I join Ruby in the class of those who can freely partake of Twizzlers.
Yeah, I always felt sorry for John Chivery. John Thornton was a little stern at times, but gentle in the end of the movie. Everyone likes Spock; I like to become Spock.
Highly enlightening post! ;-)
Haha Ryan I don't really get up early. I get up at about 8 every morning. Well, I *wake* up at 8. MOM wakes me up at 8. :D
ReplyDeleteI LOVE DESPICABLE ME!!!!!! My favorite scene is where the Dr. (scientist?) revs up his (thought to be) motercycle, and then there's a full shot of him inching along on his power scooter. bahahhahaha.
I'm so with you on that Rachel! I loved Despicable Me! It's a favorite in our house now :D
ReplyDeleteOkay, okay. I'm outnumbered! ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt just seemed overly fake for me. Parts of the scenery were designed to replicate the world and real society, yet other parts were obviously fictitious and bizarre. If an animated movie is going to be made up, then it should be completely made up. If an animated movie is supposed to be real life, then it should be reasonably similar to our world in its entirety. There were just too many weird things in that movie ... the appearances of everything were highly unusual. And, honestly, I just did not like most of the humor a whole lot. But, that's my opinion. Each of you ladies has every reason to like the movie. :-) I am just too much of a "fuddy duddy" teen I guess! :-)
Rachel, like many other comments I've read by you, your comment says it was posted at 6:20 AM. That's why I said you get up at an admirable time. It seems from your comments that you are up and active at a time that I need to be.
I just love this post! I don't even have 41 pairs of shoes :)
ReplyDeleteOooh. I don't know why it says that. I haven't been up at 6:20 in the morning for awhile. :P Unfortunately, maybe. I've heard early to bed and early to rise is actually good.
