We're sitting on our living room floor right now playing scrabble and drinking mango-strawberry smoothies. It's so hard to believe that it's been a month since we got married! Josh and I both agree that it definitely doesn't feel like a month- either it's only been a week or so, or we got married a very long time ago.
We've learned a lot and done a lot during our first month as a married couple. We've decorated the apartment, had overnight guests, joined our church, made new friends and visited with old ones, killed more cockroaches than I'd ever seen before in my life (thank goodness maintenance sprayed last week, though!), and so much more.
Some of what I've learned:
-to have dinner ready promptly or my husband will raid the cupboards in search of food (seriously, that man is always hungry!).
-that the road system is Charlotte is ridiculous! I mean, there's Sardis Road and Sardis Lane and Sardis Blvd and it gets SO confusing!
-that the TV show
Lost is very addicting.
-that milkshakes are so much better (and cheaper) when made at home- peanut butter/nutella is our favorite so far, though strawberry's pretty close behind.
-that playing the game
Guess-Who over skype, while it may not be the same as in person, makes my little brother excited.
-that my husband is much more ticklish than I originally thought (and he's learned that if he tickles my feet, I'll kick him in the face-not on purpose, actually :P)
-that quiet nights at home are wonderful
-that gift cards have to be the greatest wedding gift of all- guilt free spending!
-that kissing is so much fun :D
-that I have to keep myself busy or it's easy to get homesick
-that other than the first week of stocking up, I can grocery shop for under $50 a week for the two of us.
-that having house guests is a blast
-that when your husband likes to sleep with the covers off and you like them on, it can cause problems such as when he kicks them off in the middle of the night and they all fall off the end of the bed.
-that living with my best friend is SO.MUCH.FUN!
-oh, and last but not least, that webcams can provide hours of endless entertainment ;)
this is our "oh, by the way, we can still be normal" picture ;)
or maybe not... :P
and this is what happened when I left the room and my husband hi-jacked the computer.
